The Atlas Bench

The Roundhouse Project at Mill 19 has a ton of wonderful work by local makers and we're so fortunate to be included in that list.

Not only does the project feature LEED spec'd items but we also have a Declared product through the @living_future included in the project. The brake formed steel plate bends into an arm chair with a single arm. Along with its mirrored twin its a cantilevered bench for 2. The optional back which is not picture here can create a more relaxing piece, or aesthetically full profile. Additionally the mounting holes are placed such that the bench can be installed tête-à-tête for those awkward in-between areas where you just cant decide where to install.

Fun fact: as featured in this version the Deck Grey is also a military spec bluish grey for the navy.
The name is derived from the Greek myth in which the titan, Atlas, holds the heavens on his shoulders. Now, we're not saying the people sitting on the bench are the whole the sun and the moon (though that is kind of cute), but rather, the reference to the figurative imagery of that myth and his labor to hold up the celestial bodies from collapsing upon the earth seemed to fit when compared to the efforts of sustainability.

scroll along to the next image to see the declare label that lists the ingredients within the bench. Check out @thermoryusa for their decking materials that were included as the seat for this version of the bench.
